DUMC Contemporary Service Online Audio
NOTE 4/25/2013
Google claims to have fixed the issue with folder access that affected our audio site starting with the 3/24/13 service. To be safe, going forward, I will include two links for each service. They will point to the same files, but one link will display the folders in the new Google format and the other will display the same folders in the older format. Please use whichever you prefer.
If you experience any further problems, please contact Tom. Thank you for your patience.
This is the official home for audio from the 9:30 AM services. The audio is primarily the sermons and announcements, but we include selected musical and other segments of the service when technically possible to do so. Just click on the link for the week you want, and we will transport you to a folder with all files for that service, in MP3 format. You can then click on the files that you want and download them.
· To go directly to the sermons, click here.
· To hear some of the solos and special music, click here.

Pastor Mike
It’s All About Love |
On Mother’s Day, Pastor Mike discusses love, and its true meaning when the Bible uses the term “agape”. Giving is what God is all about, and what His love is all about.
NOTE: I also posted recordings of Anemos performances from the 4/28/13 11:00 AM service, and of Sounding Brass performances from the 5/4/13 11:00 AM service. Click on those respective folders below to hear these wonderful expressions of talent in service to God at DUMC.

Pastor Mike
What Power Empowers You? |
Pastor Mike continues to discuss transformation. We don’t have the strength on our own to conform to the likeness of Christ. But, like Mentos in a bottle of Coke, amazing things happen when we breathe in the power of the Spirit.
Pastor Mike
Conforming to the Likeness of Christ |
Pastor Mike tells the story of ducklings that imprinted on a hen – an allegory to our spiritual formation into the likeness of Christ. We need to hatch.
Pastor Paul
An Evil World In Need Of Hope |
“By perseverance the snail reached the ark.”
In this service led by PAID-4, Pastor Paul teaches about hope and perseverance, in the aftermath of the tragedy at the Boston Marathon.
NOTE: We added a piece performed by the adult handbell choir (plus dulcimer and flute) to the files for the 4/14/13 service. Check it out! Thanks to Lance Fernandes for providing the audio.

Pastor Mike
Stubborn Doubt vs. Yielding Faith |
Pastor Mike discusses what keeps us in our doubt, separated from the freedom of a yielding faith to Christ and the fruit that faith will produce in our lives. |
Pastor Mike
We Will Never Be the Same Again! |

Pastor Mike
Living Water That Refreshes the Soul |
Pastor Mike discusses the story of Jesus and the woman at the well.
NOTE: The first three songs appear as a single file this week. They flowed so well, and the Spirit was moving in a way that I thought they should be presented as they occurred. |
Pastor Mike
Facing the Storms of Life |
Jesus was in the boat when the sea raged and the wind howled. And he’s in the boat with you too. |
Pastor Donna
The Kingdom of God Has Come Near |
Pastor Donna makes a difficult passage from the Sermon on the Mount make some sense. What is the Kingdom of God?
NOTE: This week’s files contain a video of the Youth Choir. You can download the file or play it directly on the site |

On the first Sunday of Lent, Pastor Mike discusses the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness, and its lessons for our lives. |

Pastor Mike
What Would You Do If You Ran Out of Wine? |
Pastor Mike discusses the people involved at the Marriage at Cana. The new wine is available to all, and is a symbol of God’s grace and forgiveness on the cross, a symbol of God’s power over death and the promise of new life, and a symbol of how our lives can be different. |

Pastor Mike
Are You Ready for a Great Journey? |

Mary the Iconoclast |

Pastor Mike
Joe Who? |
Pastor Mike discusses Joseph. Though we know little about him, we can learn so much from what we do know. |
Pastor Mike
Prepare the Way |
John the Baptist was a different kind of person. As Christians who live by grace, we should be different too. We’re going to be the ones who are odd to someone else. |
Pastor Mike
Are You Sure, God? |
Pastor Mike lets us know that God has to throw an occasional brick at us to get our attention. When the bricks come your way, remember that God wants you to respond.
NOTE: The recording of Night of Silence / Silent Night is from December 4, 2011. Sounds of Faith performed the song again this week, but the recording had technical problems. Because it is such a beautiful song, and was performed just as beautifully this year, I have included last year’s recording here. |

Pastor Mike
Let’s Avoid the Eutychus Syndrome! |

Pastor Mike
“The yoke that Jesus places upon us is a yoke that is yoked to Him. He is the one that is our strength. He is the one that we draw from. He is the one that will do the work in our lives and we will learn from Him. If we are yoked with Him, if we are connected with Him, we find the rest and restoration and renewal that we need.” |
Pastor Donna
Couldn't You Just Scream? |
“You really don’t need to go far to find people who need the light of Christ in their lives. And that light is something that I know each and every one of you possess, and shines brightly in your hearts.” |

Youth Sunday! Once a month during the school year, the PAID-4 youth group runs the music and other elements of the service, except the sermon. However, once a year this service elevates to Youth Sunday, where the youth essentially run the entire service, with some minor assistance from the Youth Pastor. Pretty amazing, when you think about it. So take a moment and listen to what the young guys and gals of DUMC have to say. |
